We implement a methodical process for every job
Established in 2010, Korex (formerly Hazrem) is a highly experienced, reputable and compliant asbestos removal business operating throughout Melbourne and Victoria.
Korex specialises in soil remediation, removing asbestos in soil on-site thus reducing time and cost.
At Korex we implement a methodical process for every job to ensure the best outcome for all parties. The risks are often clearly understood however, the opportunities are often found when we bring innovative solutions to our clients by realising efficiencies.
Korex is committed to finding sustainable solutions to benefit clients and the community, ensuring we remove the risk of further contamination and eliminate hazard to both people and the environment.
We maintain a good relationship with Worksafe and the EPA and support continual industry improvement through membership of the Demolition Contractor’s Association and Australian Land and Groundwater Association where we sit on the board and Asbestos Committee respectively.
The team at Korex implement a comprehensive, systematic method of asbestos soil removal that they have had patented in Australia thus demonstrating their level of professionalism and commitment to sustainable work practices.
Korex’s five step asbestos removal process:
- Conduct a detailed assessment of the site and identify risks and opportunities for cost and time saving.
- Develop a removal plan to alleviate risk and maximise efficiencies.
- Remediate using our patented process
- Load out waste stream to EPA landfills
- Hand back clean site in record time
At the heart of Korex are the three Directors who are all involved in the business on a daily basis.
Having worked in both the UK managing organic recycling for London Energy and in Melbourne pioneering techniques for optimal waste recycling and soil screening, Andrew Spillane brings exceptional experience and insight to his role at Korex. He is a logistics management specialist and passionate about delivering sustainable solutions to everyday work practices. In his dual role as General Manager at Korex and The Green Centre, Andrew has a passion for recycling green waste and sustainability.
As the Chief Operating Officer of The Green Centre, Michael Spillane has worked in his family business for 20 years and managed it with his brother Andrew for the last 10 years. His experience at The Green Centre has afforded him exceptional insight and understanding of screening and remediation of contaminated soil which is instrumental in the work he does at Korex. Michael is adept at managing teams of people on site and is committed to maintaining a safe and sustainable environment for all.
